Patient data

Our services are designed not to receive patient information.

Equipment we finance is used to care for patients, but our services do not need to know anything about them. We design them so that we receive none.

  • Utilization Pricing counts the hours a bed’s integrated scale reports a load. It does not receive the weight itself, any patient identifier, or any clinical data.
  • Continuity Assurance receives the equipment’s location, maintenance status, software version and hours of use. It does not receive waveforms, alarms, settings or patient data.
  • The Client Center holds asset, billing and contact information only.

For these services Wardmore is not a business associate under HIPAA. If a hospital asks us to perform a service that would involve protected health information, such as erasing data from returned equipment on its behalf, we sign a business associate agreement before we begin.

When equipment is returned at the end of a term, we require it to be cleared of patient data by the hospital or by a certified partner, and we keep a certificate of erasure for every device.
